HCRN annual report highlights growth and transition

Hoosier Cancer Research Network, formerly known as Hoosier Oncology Group, has released its 2013 annual report.

report-coverThe report features articles highlighting the transition in the Chief Scientific Officer position from Noah Hahn, MD, to Bert H. O’Neil, MD, as well as profiles of donors and award winners. The report also includes financial statements and acknowledgement of the donors who generously supported the mission of Hoosier Cancer Research Network over the past year.

In the chairman’s letter included in the report, Christopher A. Fausel, PharmD, MHA, BCOP, discusses HCRN’s founding and its continued growth in recent years.

Fausel writes: “As HCRN enters its fourth decade, the organization is positioned to build on 
its rich history, expanding its reach to more patients than ever before through collaborations with a growing number of academic and community sites. With an increasing focus on its clinical trial portfolio to include highly translational studies, its expansive community and academic collaborations, and its philanthropic partnerships, HCRN continues to explore the infinite possibilities in cancer treatment to drive toward our ultimate goal: cure for all patients.”

Hoosier Cancer Research Network (formerly known as Hoosier Oncology Group) conducts innovative cancer research in collaboration with academic and community physicians and scientists across the United States. The organization provides comprehensive clinical trial management and support, from conception through publication. Created in 1984 as a program of the Walther Cancer Institute, Hoosier Cancer Research Network became an independent nonprofit clinical research organization in 2007. Since its founding, Hoosier Cancer Research Network has initiated more than 150 trials in a variety of cancer types and supportive care, resulting in more than 300 publications. More than 4,400 patients have participated in Hoosier Cancer Research Network clinical trials.
