Research cures cancer, and cancer is the top strategic priority of the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin. Its mission is to uncover the causes of cancer through scientific research and to translate this knowledge into effective treatment of cancer patients. MCW is dedicated to reducing the cancer burden through innovative research into its causes, prevention, early detection, and treatment. Basic science and translational and clinical research are integrated with patient care and professional and community education, with an emphasis on reaching underserved populations.

The Cancer Center is a network of cancer experts, investigators, clinicians, research programs, equipment facilities, and resources – an overarching organization that connects all cancer-related activities and represents the collective cancer effort at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
