Aurora Health Care

Milwaukee, WI

When it comes to cancer care, time is precious. Research at Aurora Health Care is paving the way toward detecting cancer at earlier stages and treating it more effectively. With approximately 200 cancer research projects – this work may help people live longer, with a better quality of life. And we won’t stop until we find a cure.

Cancer Care Redefined

Aurora is home to a large team of cancer specialists, including national experts in breast cancer, brain tumors and cancer-fighting drugs (chemotherapy). We are not content with delivering the best available care. Through research, we are redefining cancer care.

Highlights of our program include:

– Participation in prestigious research networks: We offer access to more clinical trials than ever before, thanks to our participation in government-funded research networks. We are one of 34 programs in the country participating in the National Cancer Institute’s Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP). We offer NCORP-sponsored clinical trials covering all aspects of cancer care, including prevention and treatment. Read more about the National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program.
– Using data to improve care: Combining breast cancer tissue with electronic health record data, we are searching for clues that may increase treatment effectiveness. This information helps us plan treatments that give people the best chances for survival. Learn more about our breast cancer research program: Translational Oncology Research: Quest for Understanding & Exploration (TORQUE).
– Making care safer: After surviving cancer, many people are at the center of a new health issue: heart problems. Cardio-oncology research at Aurora is exploring why some cancer drugs cause heart conditions. We are on our way to helping cancer survivors live longer, healthier lives. Find out more about our cardio-oncology program.

Access to the Latest in Chemotherapy & Cancer Treatments

We partner with drug (pharmaceutical) and medical device companies to study the safety and effectiveness of new treatments through clinical trials. In turn, you gain access to a broader range of treatments, many of which are available only in select programs across the country. Find out more about cancer clinical trials.

We are deeply committed to the safety of our clinical trial participants. Our team includes research coordinators who work with you one-on-one. We explain how a trial may help, coordinate all of your care and lend a caring ear whenever you need it. Find out more: clinical trial participant information.
