The Hoosier Oncology Group is proud to be among the major contributors acknowledged in House Concurrent Resolution No. 44 of the State of Indiana General Assembly, honoring and recognizing the contributions of those Hoosiers who have helped fight the War on Cancer as cancer researchers or as patients serving as research participants.  This recognition is shared with our colleagues at the Indiana Cancer Consortium, Indiana University Simon Cancer Center, the Great Lakes Division of the American Cancer Society, Purdue University Cancer Center and Eli Lilly and Company.

Hoosier Oncology played an instrumental role in securing support for the resolution, which was introduced before the General Assembly by State Representative Cherrish Pryor, sponsored by Senator Connie Lawson, and officially adopted by a voice vote on March 1, 2012, during the Second Regular Session of the 117th General Assembly.

Through this resolution, Hoosier Oncology brings cancer research to the forefront and hopes to continually gain the support of community and political leaders to move the science of cancer research forward and ease the burden of future cancer patients.

Hoosier Cancer Research Network (formerly known as Hoosier Oncology Group) conducts innovative cancer research in collaboration with academic and community physicians and scientists across the United States. The organization provides comprehensive clinical trial management and support, from conception through publication. Created in 1984 as a program of the Walther Cancer Institute, Hoosier Cancer Research Network became an independent nonprofit clinical research organization in 2007. Since its founding, Hoosier Cancer Research Network has initiated more than 150 trials in a variety of cancer types and supportive care, resulting in more than 300 publications. More than 4,400 patients have participated in Hoosier Cancer Research Network clinical trials.
