Cintron joins HCRN as first chief operating officer

Hoosier Cancer Research Network recently welcomed Vivian Cintron, PhD, MBA, as its first chief operating officer. In her new role, she will work closely with HCRN’s executive director, Cyndi Burkhardt, and the management team to support company operations and strengthen relationships with investigators, key opinion leaders, and industry collaborators.

Dr. Cintron is a molecular biologist and geneticist with more than 25 years of executive global experience in medical, scientific affairs, clinical trials, and strategic business development, working with Roche Diagnostics, DiaSorin, and Cepheid. She is a strategic visionary with a strong business acumen and comprehensive knowledge in the area of oncology therapeutics. A former captain in the US Army Reserve, Dr. Cintron holds an executive leadership certification from Cornell University, completed postdoctoral trainings at the National Institutes of Health and Eli Lilly and Co., and obtained an MBA and Master of Science in Strategic Management from Indiana University Kelly Business School.

Her passion to help the community is reflected in her service to the Greater Indianapolis chapter of the American Red Cross Indiana Region, as a member of the board and a member of the COVID-19 Task Force. Dr. Cintron has served as a board member for IU Health Methodist Hospital and Riverview Hospital, where she was recognized as a Woman of Vision in 2011.

Dr Cintron is co-author of a recently published book, Leading Through the Pandemic: Unconventional Wisdom from Heartfelt Leaders, a #1 Amazon Best Seller across several categories in the United States and internationally.

She lives in Indiana and enjoys hiking, oil painting, and spending quality time with her husband, Tony, and dog, Kronos. Her extraordinary experience is matched by her driven and upbeat personality, and her contagious positive attitude.
