This month, Hoosier Cancer Research Network (HCRN) highlights our member the University of North Carolina Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Autumn McRee, MD, associate professor of medicine and director of the GI Clinical Trials Program at the cancer center, shares her research interests in this investigator spotlight.
Research Interests:
I am a gastrointestinal (GI) medical oncologist with a clinical research focus on early drug development and experimental therapeutics. I have a translational research focus at UNC in pancreatic and hepatobiliary cancers integrating clinical trial design with tissue-based research, next generation sequencing, and bioinformatics. In doing so, my collaborations work to bridge the gap between scientists and clinicians. I currently co-chair the GI Clinical Trial Working Group within HCRN and enjoy making connections with clinical researchers across multiple institutions to bring the most novel therapies to our GI oncology patients.
