Investigator Spotlight: Joshua F. Zeidner, MD

Joshua F. Zeidner, MD

This month, Hoosier Cancer Research Network features our member institution University of North Carolina Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and Joshua F. Zeidner, MD, associate professor of medicine, chief of leukemia research, and associate chief of research, hematology at UNC Lineberger.

Research Interests and Expertise:

Dr. Zeidner’s research interests are to design and develop novel therapeutic options for patients with acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes, including the use of novel targets of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors, apoptosis regulators, and immunotherapeutic strategies with the goal of improving outcomes in AML and MDS. Through his leadership, his team provides access to innovative clinical trials across all disease settings through a multifaceted and comprehensive clinical research program.

Dr. Zeidner leads the Leukemia Clinical Trials Research Protocol Office Disease Group, which runs several innovative clinical trials for acute leukemia, MDS and myeloproliferative neoplasms.

He is currently co-chair of HCRN’s Myeloid Clinical Trial Working Group and is interested in evaluating and introducing new AML studies through the working group.

Created in 1984 as a program of the Walther Cancer Institute, Hoosier Cancer Research Network became an independent nonprofit clinical research organization in 2007.
