Executive Director

Cyndi is the executive director of the Hoosier Cancer Research Network. In her role, Cyndi works closely with the organization’s Board of Directors and management team, as well as leadership teams at our member institutions and other stakeholders, to ensure the organization’s strength and success in fulfilling its mission.

Cyndi is a registered nurse with more than 30 years of experience in hospital, clinic, and research settings. As a nurse, Cyndi provided care to patients in a wide range of settings, including intensive care, emergency room, skilled and intermediate care, Alzheimer’s units, and patient care coordination. She then moved into a management role overseeing clinical operations and patient support for a hospice care provider in Indianapolis.

Cyndi’s experience in oncology clinical research began in the early 2000s as a clinical research coordinator. She joined HCRN (known then as Hoosier Oncology Group) in 2006 as a clinical project manager and moved quickly into new areas of responsibility, eventually overseeing day-to-day operations of the organization as program director. Cyndi was appointed executive director of HCRN in 2012.

A native of Canada, Cyndi was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She moved with her family to Michigan as a teen and later completed her nursing degree at Bronson Methodist School of Nursing in Kalamazoo. She and her husband, Fred, have lived in Indianapolis since 1989.
