HCRN seeks biorepository technician

Hoosier Cancer Research Network (HCRN) is currently seeking a full-time biorepository technician. Two years of lab experience preferred.

HCRN is an independent nonprofit contract research organization based in Indianapolis, Ind., that specializes in early phase, multi-center, investigator-initiated oncology clinical trials. Our studies are conducted through a nationwide network of more than 100 academic and community sites.

Job Description
  • Manage, process, and store inbound biological samples.
  • Manage and resolve discrepant samples.
  • Retrieve and distribute samples for study analyses and specimen-use requests.
  • Retrieve and process biological samples for destruction.
  • Review and respond to edit checks on sample data.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on biorepository equipment.
  • Manage biorepository access controls, environmental conditions, and freezer temperatures.
  • Maintain safe and sanitary conditions in the biorepository.
  • Prepare and distribute sample collection kits.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Language Skills: 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as computer software and documentation and procedure manuals.  Will have the ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.

Reasoning Ability: 

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete issues.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
