Tufts Medical Center, located in the Chinatown area of downtown Boston, takes a collaborative approach to providing individualized cancer treatments. Its care teams include specialists from departments across the hospital, who work together to develop the best care plan for each patient.
The Tufts Cancer Center treats all forms of cancer in adults and children, including rare and complex brain, blood, and breast tumors. At Tufts Medical Center, one will find:
- Northern New England’s only Gamma Knife Center, for treating brain tumors without surgery
- One of the two Boston facilities that provides hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (heated chemotherapy for advanced stomach cancers)
- Boston’s only Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Program, dedicated to the unique needs of patients ages 18-39
- An internationally renowned Bone Marrow & Stem Cell Transplant Program, which performed Boston’s first bone marrow transplant in the late 1950s.
